- Are the prices listed on SignificantDomains.com negotiable and does SignificantDomains.com accept offers?
SignificantDomains.com has provided a “Buy It Now” (BIN) button to enable easy purchase of full rights to the domain name. While we may consider an offer that is less than the BIN, our pricing may or may not be negotiable, depending upon the domain itself. See note below regarding value of domain names. When approaching SignificantDomains.com with an “offer” that is less than the BIN, you are asking us to manually review the price of the domain. In doing so, we may determine that we are willing to accept less than our asking BIN price. In some cases, we will determine that we are not willing to accept less than our asking BIN price, and on the rare occasion, we will discover that our asking price is too low. PLEASE NOTE: Please exercise caution in making an offer that is less than the Buy It Now (BIN) price, as anyone can purchase a domain using the “Buy It Now” button at any time. This includes while any lesser “offer” is pending on a domain name or under consideration or during negotiations for a domain name for less than BIN. Accordingly, we advise purchasers to use the Buy It Now button if they want to obtain the domain they want. Don’t lose out on fantastic opportunities to acquire significant domains that are currently available. Our inventory changes and is updated regularly.
- What is the transfer process?
After we have received payment we will verify the purchase and transfer the domain to your own account at the domain's current registrar. This is called a domain “push” and is the fastest method to transfer a domain to a purchaser. Since domain transfers are a manual process, it can take from a few minutes up to 48 hours to transfer the domain to the buyer's account depending of the registrar. Once you have received access to your account with the domain's current registrar and once the transfer of the domain to you is complete, you will have full control of the domain and will be able to adjust all the settings (DNS).
Domains may be purchased directly through our website by selecting the name of the domain and clicking on the “Buy Now” button. You have several payment options with SignificantDomains.com. You can opt to have your transaction processed and protected by Escrow.com, a licensed U.S. escrow company. Our payment partner Escrow.com accepts PayPal, credit card and wire transfer. This makes the transaction more secure by keeping the payment in a secure escrow account which is only released when the domain has been transferred to your control and all of the terms of the agreement are met by both parties. Your fee to use Escrow.com is approximately 3.5% of the total purchase price (or approximately $35.00 per each $1,000.)
Alternatively, if the price is below a certain threshold (currently $5,000 USD) you can opt to use PayPal to pay for the transaction directly. Upon receipt of funds via PayPal we will transfer the domain name to your control.
Yes, once purchased the domain will be transferred into your own name and you will have full control of, and exclusive renewal rights to the domain. After you've purchased the domain, you will have the exclusive rights to do anything you want with it, including transferring the domain to another registrar.
- Does anything come with the domain?
No. No logos, graphics, text or anything else currently associated with the domain is included. You are obtaining a transfer of the domain name only. If you wish to obtain hosting, e-mail, design, and other related services you may do so HERE.
- For how long should I register(renew) my domains?
It is recommended you should keep your registration good for at least one year. Pursuant to ICANN rules, domains have annual recurring renewal fees which vary depending upon the registrar. Typical renewal registration fees are between $8 and $30 annually. Once a domain has been transferred to you, you will be responsible for maintaining the domain's annual registration renewal. Failure to do so will potentially result in the loss of your domain.
- How long does it take for the new ownership to show up in the WHOIS records?
WHOIS information is not updated immediately. It typically takes several hours for Whois data to update, and different registrars are faster than others. Usually your Whois information will be fully updated within two days.
If you would like to put privacy protection on your domain you can do so after the domain has been pushed into your account. Some registrars charge a nominal fee to have privacy protection added, other registrars offer such for free.
- When is a sale considered final?
All sales are subject to the final approval of SignificantDomains.com and we reserve the right to deny fulfillment of any order at any time, and for any reason. In the event that SignificantDomains.com decides to stop fulfillment of an order and payment has already been rendered by the buyer, we will issue a complete refund immediately. Only once the domain name has been transferred into the buyer's name and the buyer has received possession of the domain will a sale be considered final.
- How much are domain names worth?
Every domain name is unique, and its value can be based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to: comparable sales, the length of the domain, and the memorability and meaning behind the name itself. At first blush, domains may seem fairly expensive. However, in reality, a significant domain can be extremely valuable. Compared to a traditional brick-and-mortar business, a domain name is comparatively inexpensive and enables a business to operate around the clock 7 days a week on the web, reaching a worldwide audience and is highly cost-effective. Rick Schwartz at www.DomainKing.com
explains this concept very well, and has always believed “domains would go up faster in value than any other commodity ever known to mankind.” Ron Jackson at DNJournal.com
publishes a list of weekly and yearly sales reports of domain name sales. Michael Cyger has published an extremely informative guide at HowMuchIsADomainNameWorth.com
We are very confident you will make a significant impact on the Web with a significant domain from SignficantDomains.com! We wish you every success!
